Zamdela residents at it again.

It was that time again. Zamdela residents took to the streets in the pouring rain to show their unhappiness.

One of the protesters being arrested after the group he as in was asked to disperse.

Police using the water canon to disperse the group of people.

Police using a stun grenade to disperse the crowd that was growing.

A police officer confronting a suspect.

6 men being arrested.

I must just say that this was probably the most difficult conditions that I have ever had to deal with on a news story. It was ice cold and the rain was coming in down in buckets. My biggest worry was my equipment that was getting socking wet, but what are you going to do, you need to get the pics. So in the rain we went running after the cops as the chased people through the houses. Another thing was the low light. At one stage we were shooting on 1600ISO as it was relatively dark with the heavy cloud cover. It was also very hard getting shots as groups of people were forming all over the place so you really needed to be in the right spot on the right time to get a frame.

But all in all the cops had the situation under control so there wasn't really much happening, I think the weather also played a role in keeping the people calm to a certain extent. At least I got to run around in the rain and not sit in the office all day.
