Sunday Rapist Judgement

Jaco Steyn the man dubbed the Sunday Rapist was sentenced to 170 Years imprisonment together with 5 life sentences. Judge Sita Kolbe took into account that Steyn showed no remorse throughout the court proceedings, she also took into account the ages of the children as well as the psychological harm his actions caused. Steyn also gave the media an interview  after the court adjourned where he made some statemts where he admitted that he planned to kill Louise De Waal. He also said that "it is more difficult for me than for the victims" and "nobody was there when I cried infront of God."

Steyn was also found to be a Psychopath in evidence given by Psychologist Francois Visser in sentencing arguments. “He has no regard for others. He is selfish and self-centred. He also accepts no responsibility for his actions,” Visser said.
